Sankar K. Pal (https://www.isical.ac.in/~sankar) is a Distinguished Scientist and former Director of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI). Currently, he is a National Science Chair, Govt. of India, and the President of Indian Statistical Institute as well as its Emeritus Professor. He is also an AICTE nominated AICTE-Distinguished Chair Professor, a Scholar-in-Residence of IIT Jodhpur, and a Vice-President of International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA). He founded the Machine Intelligence Unit and the Center for Soft Computing Research: A National Facility in ISI, Calcutta. He received a Ph.D. in Radio Physics and Electronics from Indian Statistical Institute/ University of Calcutta in 1979, and another Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering along with DIC from Imperial College, University of London in 1982. He joined his Institute (ISI) in 1975 as a CSIR Senior Research Fellow where he became a Full Professor in 1987, Distinguished Scientist in 1998, the Director in 2005, and the President in 2022.Prof. Pal is/was an Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. Professor Zhu Zuoqing pursued his doctoral degree at the University of California, Davis, from September 2003 to July 2007. From July 2007 to January 2011, he served as a senior engineer in the Service Provider Technology Group at Cisco Systems headquarters in the United States. In 2011, he was selected for the "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. From January 2011 to June 2014, he was an associate professor and doctoral supervisor in the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science at the University of Science and Technology of China. In June 2014, he became a professor and doctoral supervisor in the same department. In November 2022, he was elected a Fellow of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
Professor Zhu Zuoqing’s research areas include data centers, programmable networks, network automation, and optical communication networks.

Prof. Assaf Schuster of the Computer Science Department at the Technion published over 250 papers in the areas of Machine Learning, AI, Streaming Data, Big Data Systems, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Scalability. He is a Fellow of the ACM and the IEEE, and is heading MLIS, the Technion center for Machine Learning and Intelligent Systems.
